Each of the three routes is designed to accommodate riders of all skill levels.
Short / Blue Route – 24 km
Designed for less experienced or less trained riders, for families, and for children with some riding experience. It’s not an easy ride – it includes climbs and descents. The route passes through a single fortification, in Cloașterf, where there is also a feed zone.
Even though it’s only 24 km, the Short Route can still be challenging for beginners and requires some skill for descending on gravel forest roads (control your speed with light braking, using the rear brake more than the front). Exercise caution on asphalt descents as well.
Medium / Fluorescent Green Route – 42 km
A more complex route, passing through multiple villages and fortified churches (Meșendorf, Criț, Cloașterf, Saschiz), with several feed zones and more varied terrain.
Long / Pink Route – 77 km
The most complete route, covering almost the entire area of the revitalized Saxon villages. It includes Viscri and the fortified church of Bunești, and finishes with a descent through the Saschiz fortress.

To spread out and separate riders after the start after the start and before reaching the narrow single trails, the course begins with an asphalt climb. After climbing on asphalt, you’ll cross a longer stretch of meadow before dropping into the built trail.
The Long and Medium routes share the same start and initial section until reaching the Meșendorf fortification, where they separate. The split is located immediately after exiting the fortification—be sure to follow the correct separation point and pay attention to your route’s designated color markings.
🏁 Long Route – ~78 km | 1,700 m elevation gain
!!Please choose carefully the route you wish to participate in or that best suits your abilities. While the Long route is not highly technical and the elevation gain is moderate, it still requires proper training and some experience to take on this challenge.
The Long Route takes you on a complete tour of the revitalized Saxon villages, combining endurance, scenery, and history. You’ll ride through rolling meadows, forest trails, and charming cobbled streets, visiting some of the area’s most iconic fortified churches – including Viscri and Bunești – before finishing with a spectacular descent through the Saschiz Citadel.
While the course is not highly technical and the climbs are moderate, it is a true endurance challenge. Riders will need good training, solid pacing, and prior experience to comfortably tackle the distance. Along the way, multiple feed zones will keep you hydrated and fueled, and the varied terrain will keep your mind and legs engaged from start to finish.
